Professor Kylie Readman is UTS's Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic), responsible for leading the university’s academic strategy.
In this role, Kylie provides whole-of-institution leadership across digital transformation, curriculum, learning and teaching, academic quality and standards, student success, and the systems and settings that support academic staff to design and deliver excellent learning experiences, ensuring alignment with UTS’s strategic priorities and regulatory obligations.
Kylie is an experienced senior executive with a strong track record of driving large-scale transformation in higher education. She is recognised for creating the institutional conditions that enable academic excellence, including contemporary learning environments, robust digital platforms, and practical support that equips academic staff to design and deliver engaging, inclusive, and industry-relevant learning experiences. She brings a particular focus to student success, equity, and belonging, ensuring that students from all backgrounds are supported to realise their aspirations and thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Kylie is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, recognising her sustained and strategic leadership in academic practice. She joined UTS in November 2022 from Murdoch University, where she served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education and Equity). In that role, she led learning and teaching innovation, student experience, equity and diversity, and wellbeing portfolios, and supported advancement of institutional approaches to Indigenous education and inclusive practice. She chaired the Program Control Group during the development of the award-winning Learning and Teaching building, ‘Boola Katitjin’.
Her earlier career spans leadership roles at Queensland University of Technology and the University of the Sunshine Coast, where she led major initiatives in curriculum redesign, multi-campus and digitally enabled learning, staff capability development, and the creation of contemporary teaching and learning spaces and physical infrastructure. As a senior leader, she now brings this commitment to a strategic, institution-wide level—driving innovation, strengthening performance, and shaping the future of higher education.
