All of our laboratories were built as PC2 capable and many are certified as a Quarantine Approved Premise for working with imported samples. In addition to our well-equipped laboratories, we also have several other facilities available to support our environmental research.
Roof top tanks
The roof top tank facility holds several large volume tanks in a high light- exposed area, suitable for larger scaled algal growth. The facility has plumbed seawater, freshwater and gases (air, nitrogen and carbon dioxide). A large mixing tank is available for mixing and dispensing media.
Constant temperature rooms
Our constant temperature rooms are used for a variety of applications such ecotoxicology testing, fish or reptile ecology studies and algal and plant cultures. The rooms can regulate the temperature from 18-30°C and most are equipped with on oil free aeration, filtered seawater, freshwater fish water and controlled under shelf lighting.
