Managing Interference in Antenna Collocation for Future
Telecommunication Infrastructure – Dr Can Ding
The evolution from 2G to 6G brings increasing complexity in frequency bands, standards, and connected devices. In 6G, integrating terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks, including UAVs, airplanes, and satellites, introduces new challenges for antenna systems. To meet these demands, antenna designs must enable collocation and shared apertures across multiple polarisations and frequency bands, optimising spectrum use and efficiency. However, antenna collocation can cause self- and mutual interference, affecting system reliability. This talk explores techniques for mitigating interference through electromagnetically uncoupled antenna designs, ensuring robust performance in complex communication environments.
Research Excellence Lecture Series
Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology Research Excellence Lecture Series delivers public lectures, seminars and workshops across the faculty, university and wider community in four broad themes.
