Writing the In-Between: a Lecture by Christine Piper
Hear from Dr Christine Piper, the 2019 Copyright Agency UTS New Writer-in-Residence
Copyright Agency/UTS New Writer-in-Residence Christine Piper's in-progress second novel charts the journey of a pair of Queensland lungfish (known as "living fossils") from Australia to the 1933 Chicago World's Fair. In her talk to celebrate the completion of her residency, the 2014 The Australian/Vogel's Literary Award winner will discuss why she's drawn to the idea of "the in-between" in writing her new novel and what it means to be writing about Australian ecological pioneers amid the environmental crises of the present.
Dr Piper's talk will be followed by a Q and A with Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing, Dr Delia Falconer.
