There are many ways our UTS Law alumni community can make a difference in the lives of our students. Opportunities include being an Alumni spokesperson, judging competitions and subject moots, recruit students for PLT and permanent employment, mentoring and offering pro bono services to UTS Student Legal.

Volunteering is a great way to enhance your own well-being and stay connected with the Faculty.

Be a UTS Law Alumni Spokesperson

Are you an undergraduate or JD Law alumni who’d like to share your experience with prospective students at campus information sessions?  Prospective students want to hear first-hand about your student experiences and career paths. Email us with your CV and/or LinkedIn profile and we’ll be in contact about upcoming campus events.

Judge a UTS Law Students’ Society competition or subject moot

Judging is an engaging way to draw upon your professional experience and help develop students’ skills. The time commitment is only a few hours, with expressions of interest welcome throughout the year. It’s a chance to re-live memories from your student days or become involved with moots and competitions for the first time.

Advertise a job or a PLT practical experience placement

Our alumni know first-hand our emphasis on practice-oriented learning. Our students make a great resource to meet the needs of your organisation.

  • Learn about the requirements for PLT practical experience supervisors and to place a free ad for practical experience placements.
  • Contact wehire@uts.edu.au  to advertise part-time or full-time jobs to current students and recent graduates.

Mentoring Programs

The UTS Law Students’ Society seeks volunteer mentors to take part in the Advocates Mentoring and Women's Mentoring programs each year.  Barristers and female mentors from a diverse range of backgrounds, ages, identities, and professional experiences are encouraged to participate in the programs.

Share Your Story

We’re always looking for stories to share with prospective and current student and fellow alumni.  Alumni are featured in our brochures, UTS:Law website and the 2SER radio program, highlighting  professional and service to the community. Send us your CV and/or LinkedIn profile

Do Pro Bono work with UTS Student Legal Service

Law professionals with a NSW practicing certificate can help UTS students in need of legal advice. Opportunities to be involved include providing advice and acting on matters, whether in a pro-bono or reduced-fee capacity.

Offer an internship

Working in the offices of a Shanghai law firm or conducting compliance and corporate governance work for the Sydney offices of Toyota. These are just a few of the examples of ways UTS:Law alumni and friends of the Faculty provide our students with internships for academic credit. Discuss internship opportunities with our Advancement Manager.

Work as a UTS Law academic

The Faculty regularly takes expressions of interest for casual academic employment. Register your interest in casual academic employment.

Support UTS Law

The generosity of our donors makes a difference in the lives of our students and the work of the Faculty.  Find out how you can support UTS Law and the impact you can make

Acknowledgement of Country

UTS acknowledges the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation and the Boorooberongal People of the Dharug Nation upon whose ancestral lands our campuses now stand. We would also like to pay respect to the Elders both past and present, acknowledging them as the traditional custodians of knowledge for these lands.
