SPROUTS stands for “Speech Pathology Reaching Out at UTS”

The UTS Speech Pathology Clinic - “SPROUTS”, is a student-led teaching and research clinic.

At SPROUTS, our speech pathology students provide services under the supervision of qualified Certified Practicing Speech Pathologists. We provide low-cost/free speech pathology services to clients of all ages throughout NSW and Australia who might not otherwise have access to a speech pathologist.  

We provide a broad range of services, including assessment and support face-to-face within our clinic space at 100 Broadway, Ultimo, and via telepractice.

Our services 

At SPROUTS, we provide services for children and adults of all ages.

Adult-directed services

  • Adult acquired speech and language disorders (e.g. from post stroke aphasia, brain injury, Parkinson’s and more)
  • Lifelong communication disorders (e.g. Developmental Language Disorder, Intellectual Disability)
  • Swallowing and mealtime management
  • Fluency / stuttering
  • Voice, including gender affirming voice training and Functional Neurological Disorders
  • Intelligibility enhancement
  • Alternative and augmentative communication (AAC)  

Child-directed services

  • Language delays and disorders
  • Speech sound delays and disorders
  • Literacy difficulties
  • Fluency disorders (stuttering)
  • Early communication development
  • Alternative and augmentative communication (AAC)

Service availability update July 2026:

  • Currently, we are operating with a waitlist with no immediate appointments available.   
  • For Gender Affirming Voice Therapy: please see details regarding our specialist clinic.
  • For children: whilst we can add children to our waiting list, we do strongly advise reaching out to other Speech Pathology services as well.
