The Master of Physiotherapy provides innovative, practice-based physiotherapy education and high impact research excellence in acute care, rehabilitation and neuroscience leading to eligibility to apply for professional registration in Australia.

Leading academics

Our academics are expert physiotherapist clinicians who are trained in a variety of practice environments, providing you with essential clinical skills. Each with their own respective areas of expertise, our academics are internationally renowned with research topics in neurorehabilitation, chronic disease management and intensive care physiotherapy.

As a School, we are student-focused ensuring you have access to subject matter experts and benefit from intimate learning environments due to a selective intake.

Innovative and creative environment

Facilities feature collaborative learning spaces, enabling innovative and creative thinking.  Integrated clinical simulation rooms, interactive lecture theatres and a 30-bay plinth room equipped with the latest physiotherapy technology will further develop your clinical reasoning and professional skills. Case-based teaching and learning coupled with a small cohort and addressing different clinical settings will ensure you gain a breadth of knowledge and skill.

You will become technology-enabled through exposure to a suite of robotic and virtual reality rehabilitation devices. We have sourced equipment from Austria, for the purpose of research and teaching, with UTS as the second site in Australia to purchase the entire range and the first in a university setting.

UTS is located in the heart of Sydney, with Central Station, Sydney’s main transport hub and restaurants, shops and lives entertainment venues just a short walk away.

UTS Physiotherapy is housed in One Hundred Broadway, part of our city campus, with some study conducted at the Rugby Australia Building in Moore Park. Learn more about our facilities

UTS teaching style

Our approach to learning adheres to the UTS learning.futures whereby students experience the best of online and face-to-face on campus learning.

New spaces on campus, such as clinical simulated learning areas, are designed to accommodate flipped learning approaches ensuring collaboration and interaction with fellow students and staff.

Career ready graduates

The UTS Master of Physiotherapy prepares you for a rewarding career as a physiotherapist of the future with the clinical skills to specialise in musculoskeletal, sport, neurological, paediatric, cardiorespiratory rehabilitation, academia or research.

You will be confident working across both hospital and private practice environments; inter-professional care; and within community settings.

Your final subject, Transition to Practice, is designed to help advance your business acumen, digital skills as well as develop your professional e-portfolio for the employment market - setting you apart from other graduates.
