My application

Where can I find the EOI application form?

The EOI application form is on the UTS Forms System. Follow the link below and log in using your UTS Student ID number and your UTS network password.

Access the EOI application form

Should I keep to the word limit on the EOI form for each answer?

Yes. The assessors will take into consideration how well the project idea is communicated. Answers should address each question within the word limit ideally, to demonstrate the team can communicate succinctly and effectively.

Can I save my draft EOI to work on later?

The UTS Forms system will automatically save your submission as you go. You can leave and return at any time. When you next log in to the system click on the Edit button for the submission you have created and are still working on.

  1. Complete all sections of the EOI form.
  2. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk. You can move through required fields and come back to them later, but you cannot lodge your submission without all required fields being filled.

If you experience any problems saving or submitting your form please contact the IT Service Connect team or phone X2222.

How do I upload my budget and video to my EOI application?

Upload your budget file and video on the tab titled Supporting documentation. Native files are accepted up to a size of 10Mb so your video must be submitted as a shared url.

Naming conventions

  1. Name your budget "First Name_Last Name_Student ID Number_Budget".
  2. Name your video "First Name_Last Name_Student ID Number_Video".

What's the EOI application deadline?

The form and 90-second pitch video are due together.

Friday 22 July 2022 at 5:00pm

The EOI forms will be closed for editing or new submissions after this time.

Team members

Who can apply for the program?

An individual or team may apply for the program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • An entry can be made by an individual Engineering and IT student.
  • An entry can be made from a team. The team could be made up of all Engineering and IT students (with a limit of 5 student members) or a team of UTS students with at least one Engineering and IT student member serving as the CTO (Chief Technology Officer). There must be at least one female member of the team.
  • Students must be enrolled and in good academic standing and available to develop their prototype and participate in meetings between August to November 2022.
  • Have a commercial idea utilising deep tech.
  • Students can enter to the program only once.

How many team members can I have on my project?

A project team can have up to five (5) team members. The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) needs to be a Faculty of Engineering and IT student as the project leader.

Can my supervisor be on my project team?

Yes, one UTS staff member may be on your project team. While participating in the project, role of the UTS staff member (or hat they are wearing) must be of a ‘team member’, not ‘supervisor’ for the team. The UTS staff member will take direction from the Faculty of Engineering and IT student CTO, just like the other project team members.

Can non-Faculty of Engineering and IT students participate in the Techcelerator?

Techcelerator is open to all currently enrolled UTS students, however, all teams must have a current Faculty of Engineering and IT student as the CTO (project leader).

Timeline

Where can I find a timeline of deadlines and events for Techcelerator?

See the 2022 Techcelerator timeline

What happens next after the EOI application deadline?

EOI applications will be assessed by the advisory panel. The selected teams will be announced on 29 July 2022 and the induction date is on 8 August 2022.

What is the time commitment for the program?

Participants must be able to commit to developing their prototype each month from August to November 2022.
