Case Cup Competition

The UTS Business School and UTS Case Team bring you the QBExUTS Case Cup, a competition sponsored by ASX-listed company, QBE Insurance Group Limited.

In this competition, UTS students work in teams of four on a real business case problem set by QBE. This year’s case focuses on Hybrid Working and how QBE can effectively manage its workforce into the future.

Your work can use knowledge from any area of study – IT, design, business, engineering. Importantly, this competition is open to all UTS students, regardless of your degree or major. No experience of case competitions (or business knowledge) is required. The case solving only requires research, critical thinking and communication skills independent of your area of study.

The full details of the case will be provided in a full case brief released one week prior to the first presentation. See below upcoming workshops and sessions that will explain the process of case solving and help you learn more about the management of the case company, QBE Insurance.

Key dates:

21 August, 5pm: Team Registrations Close.

22 – 29 August: Case Solving Week.

30 August: Present your Solution at UTS.

6 September, 4-6pm: The Top 3 teams present at the QBE Sydney Office.

The UTS Case Team will host an introductory Case Solving Workshop and Networking session on 14 August 2024, 4-6 pm. This workshop will provide you with the tools to analyse a business problem and explain the process of solving a case. It will also allow you to network with former case competitors and find potential team members.
