This Student Declaration is a mandatory requirement that must be completed by students at the time of enrolment at UTS.

  1. I agree to comply with, and understand that I will be bound by, all applicable laws, the UTS Act, the UTS By-law, the Student Rules and policies before, during and after my enrolment at UTS as applicable.
  2. I will behave in accordance with the Student Rules and policies at all times, including policies relating to students and learning (for example, the Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy and the Academic Integrity Policy).
  3. I will complete any mandatory training or processes required by UTS within the required timeframe.
  4. I will provide truthful, accurate and complete information to UTS at all times, including, but not limited to, my Unique Student Identifier (USI), Tax File Number (TFN) or my bank account details as required.
  5. I will ensure my contact details are current and kept updated via MyStudentAdmin (MSA). I will notify the appropriate UTS office and/or Student Centre of a change to my:
    1. personal details and/or contact information, and/or
    2. circumstances that might adversely affect the status of my enrolment or course progression.
  6. I accept that my enrolment via MSA is my responsibility and that enrolments are to be finalised by the relevant close of enrolment date as outlined in the academic calendar.
  7. I understand and accept that I will incur fees and liability for any subjects in which I am enrolled at the census date and will be liable for the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) and other fees or charges as set out in UTS rules and policies as applicable to my enrolment (see Information on fees and costs). I agree to pay all mandatory fees by the due date unless an alternate date is approved by UTS.
  8. I understand that UTS depends on the truth, accuracy and completeness of any information provided by me before and during my enrolment at UTS. UTS is not responsible or liable for any errors resulting from untruthful, inaccurate or incomplete information provided by me.
  9. When communicating with UTS:
    1. I agree to use my UTS email account for all formal communication with UTS.
    2. I agree that I am responsible for checking my UTS email account regularly.
    3. I understand that UTS uses my UTS email account and student webpages as its primary source of communication with students. The personal email address that I provide may be used by UTS as a secondary form of communication.
    4. I understand that UTS may use the mobile telephone number I provide to alert me via phone or message (Short Message Service (SMS)) in an emergency, or for urgent matters relating to my enrolment, attendance and/or course progression.
  10. I acknowledge my responsibilities for the appropriate use of UTS equipment, facilities and property. I agree to pay for the cost of repair or replacement for damage or loss while in my possession or use.
  11. I acknowledge that nothing in this Student Declaration affects the rights I have under consumer laws.
  12. If I am under 18 years of age when I commence my study at UTS, I agree that:
    1. I will comply with any age restrictions including those relating to any compulsory course components including internships, and
    2. if required by law, I will obtain parental or guardian consent for any relevant activity and provide that consent to UTS.
  13. I understand my information will be handled in line with the Student privacy notice.

Acknowledgement

I have read and understood this Student Declaration and agree to it while I am a student before, during and after my enrolment at UTS (as applicable).

I acknowledge that:

  1. UTS reserves the right to amend, update and repeal this Student Declaration, its rules and its policies from time to time and that these changes take effect from the date of publication (unless otherwise specified). I understand that these documents are published on the UTS website at Rules and Policies and that I am responsible for regularly reviewing them. Failure to comply with this Student Declaration once made may have consequences that impact my enrolment.
