Overview
Thomson Reuters Prize for Media Law was established to recognise the best performing student in subject 76063 Media Law or subject 78165 Media and Entertainment Law and Regulation or subject 78166 Media and Entertainment Law and Regulation. Usually, one (1) Recipient will be awarded the Prize at the end of each academic year.
Who is eligible?
Students enrolled in a UTS award course who receive a result in either subject 76063 Media Law or subject 78165 Media and Entertainment Law and Regulation or subject 78166 Media and Entertainment Law and Regulation in the academic year for which the prize is being awarded.
Selection process
The prize will be awarded to the student who achieves the highest aggregate mark of all students who completed one of the three subjects in clause 4 in the relevant academic year (please read the Conditions of Award for full details).
In the event that two or more eligible students have the same highest aggregate mark, the following criteria will be considered:
- Performance in subject 76063 Media Law or subject 78165 Media and Entertainment Law and Regulation or subject 78166 Media and Entertainment Law and Regulation outside of formal assessment that demonstrates mastery of and engagement in the subject;
- No previous attempts of subject 76063 Media Law or subject 78165 Media and Entertainment Law and Regulation or subject 78166 Media and Entertainment Law and Regulation;
- Overall academic performance in the student’s course, including GPA, whether the student has failed other subjects, received academic cautions or had a finding of misconduct against them.
