For Our Elders Selena Blakeney Exhibition - Woolloomooloo

NAIDOC week was busy this year, as the theme was “For Our Eldersˮ we had been approached to help the Woollomooloo community hold a exhibition of one of the elders they lost during the year, Aunty Selena Blakeney, who had been an active member of the celebration for Woolloo NAIDOCʼS over the past 20 years.

For Our Elders Bidjigal Exhibition – UTS Foyer

At the UTS foyer, we also held a NAIDOC celebration of the works created both during the Bidjigal workshops and also around the theme of For our Elders, enhanced elements of works for Aunty Barb Sims and also a video about the women of Sydney celebrating those who walked before them.

NAIDOC in the City

In April 2020 we won the tender for NAIDOC in the City at Hyde Park, we had been working towards a 5000 people 4 hour event at Hyde Park, two weeks out from the NAIDOC festival Sydney went into lockdown and we quickly moved to an online show Archive of the NAIDOC in the City ONLINE 2021 Website and supporting the stallholders by promoting and selling their wares as well as doing some workshops on some of the cultural elements that would have happened during the NAIDOC week celebration.

We would also like to pay respect to the Elders both past and present, acknowledging them as the traditional custodians of knowledge for these lands.
