How to work with us
The UTS Research Community on Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence partners with academia, community-based organisations, government organisations such as the NSW Department of Communities and Justice, health providers, legal organisations, specialist support services such as Full Stop Australia and the police.
Our research is deeply rooted in people with lived experiences who guide knowledge development and interventions. Over decades we’ve built trust with those working in the sector and formed ongoing relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and organisations.
We have broad expertise across many different areas, and we are interested in partnering with any organisations keen to work with us across our wide range of research areas, in particular those who want to support our research through PhD scholarships or to engage us as research partners.

For students
Students from across UTS have opportunities to engage with issues related to domestic, family and sexual violence and contribute to the development of future strategies, policies and solutions. Our research is rapidly translated into teaching and learning activities, ensuring that graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills and tools needed to respond to the complex and widespread challenges of domestic, family, and sexual violence.
This work includes interdisciplinary research projects, research on family law and access to justice, disability and human rights, economic and workplace impacts, the design of safer and more effective domestic, family and sexual violence support facilities, and the evaluation of workplace responses to domestic violence across a range of industries and organisational contexts.
We welcome expressions of interest from prospective PhD candidates and are actively working towards establishing scholarship opportunities to support future research in this important field.
