Heidi Yaqi Han

Heidi Yaqi Han JP is an Advisory Board member at the Australia-China Relations Institute at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS:ACRI).

She is a former journalist, community leader, and founding director of LaunchStory.com.au and Decoded PR, a communications consultancy supporting businesses and entrepreneurs from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

Born in China and educated in New Zealand and Australia, Heidi is an experienced multicultural media and communications professional, recognised for her work as a bilingual journalist and specialist in cross-cultural communications. She has more than a decade of experience across community media, SBS, The Australian, and consultancy roles involving major CALD marketing campaigns, events, and cultural policy initiatives. She has worked with organisations including the City of Sydney, Cultural Perspectives, and NSW Health, as well as agencies such as Publicis and M&C Saatchi.

She was a fellow of the Asialink Leadership Program and the Dr John Yu Fellowship. She is currently a committee member of the Chinese Australian Forum and has served on the committee of the Australian Chinese Charity Foundationfor more than 12 years.

She is also the founder of FluentMind Community Inc, a community initiative focused on strengthening cross-cultural communication, media literacy, professional communication, and community engagement skills through workshops, peer learning, and inclusive community programs.
