UTS has had a whole-of-university focus on the implementation of Indigenous Graduate Attributes for a number of years.
Indigenous Graduate Attribute
The UTS Indigenous Education and Research 2019-2023 strategy includes the university’s aim to have a nationally significant Indigenous Graduate Attribute commitment, one that will make an important contribution to the professions, and will bear close scrutiny by Indigenous professionals. The Associate Dean (Indigenous Teaching and Learning) in the Jumbunna Institute of Indigenous Education and Research has oversight of IGA implementation.
IGA Champions
Further to the Course Accreditation Process, at the School level we facilitate community of practice to support our colleagues as they develop subjects with carriage of the IGA. The Community of practice approach values the intellectual and disciplinary knowledge that exist within faculties and professional practice expertise our teaching staff bring to their work.
The IGA Champions, monitor progress to meet the IGA. Monitoring and analysing data as part of the Enhancing Courses process and our commitment to continuous improvement and quality assurance, e.g., staff surveys, CILO maps, UTS Student Feedback Surveys (SFS) and the Student Experience Survey (SES).
