Being able to respond to different and sometimes competing priorities in a rapid and relevant way can be achieved through agile design thinking approaches that challenge traditional ways of working.
In this innovation course, you will learn the art of collaborative and innovative practice through foundational design thinking skills. Drawing on expert-developed content from design thinking and government leadership specialists, this dynamic learning intervention incorporates interactive discussion, collaborative exercises and case study examples.

At the completion of this innovation course you will have:
- Developed you foundational skills in design thinking.

- The ability to communicate ideas and engage key stakeholders.
This innovation course will be delivered as an interactive workshop consisting of an instructor-led lecture, group and individual activities. This training approach allows participants to work through concepts introduced by the trainer in an application-focused teaching environment. Participants will challenge their understanding of the concepts and consider their application once back in their individual workplace.

About the presenters
Gauri Bhalla is an educator, entrepreneur and social innovation driver. She is the founder of the ‘Curious Collective’ innovation group, a design thinker, lean start up practitioner and facilitator of ‘learn by doing’ methodologies. Her passion is to explore and challenge business models, to extract shared value. With the Collective, she designs and delivers capability and execution programs across all sectors, including the Department of Education, the Experimentation program for CBA, the Innovation lab for MGSM, and a flagship leadership program for Stockland. She has worked in global organisations and for Universities such as Cambridge, Stanford and UTS.
Sophi Bruce With over 20 years’ experience working in and with governments, Sophi specialises in approaches to leadership and strategic impact to help people and organisations to reach their potential. With the Institute for Public Policy and Governance since 2011, Sophi has responsibility for a suite of learning and research programs for a range of government clients.
