About us
The Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation (CHERE) is part of UTS Health and is recognised nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence in economic evaluation and health technology assessment, applied econometrics and policy evaluation, discrete choice experiments, and health outcome measurement.

Our research is also focussed on using health economics to inform the design of health care delivery across the life cycle and for particular diseases and population groups, including aged care, palliative care, cancer, primary care, early childhood and chronic diseases.

 

CHERE has a strong leadership team of senior researchers with international reputations.  We have a more than 30 year history of excellence with impact in health economics, health policy and health services research in Australia and internationally.  CHERE has an outstanding reputation for mentoring and developing early and mid-career research fellows into leaders in their field. Many of the senior health economics academics in Australia, as well as internationally, have undertaken significant parts of their research training at CHERE.

 

About the Role

CHERE is currently recruiting for a Professor to provide leadership within the Centre for the applied econometrics and quantitative evaluation of policy research themes.  You will work closely with other senior researchers at CHERE in providing research leadership across the Centre.  As an outstanding research leader, you will have the capacity to attract and lead nationally competitive research grants and contract research, supervise and mentor early and mid-career researchers and PhD students. 

 

About You

You will have a PhD in economics, health economics, or a related discipline. You will have extensive experience in health economics, applied economics and social sciences research.  Knowledge of health policy and the Australian health system is desirable.  Other requirements include:

  • Outstanding track record in publications in high quality journals
  • Outstanding track record in generating research income
  • Outstanding track record in policy engagement
  • Excellent track record in teaching and learning, with experience in providing high quality postgraduate teaching and supervision

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $201,100 (Level E)

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

The position is full time and will be made on continuing basis.
