The Palliative Care Clinical Studies Collaborative (PaCCSC) and Cancer Symptom Trials (CST) are pleased to welcome two Research Assistant-Writers, Melanie Mora and Sandra Kent. Melanie commenced her role as CST RA-Writer in November 2018 and Sandra has just commenced as PaCCSC RA-Writer in May 2019.
Sandra Kent and Melanie Mora
As RA-Writers, Melanie and Sandra are invaluable team members who assist clinical trial researchers to develop clinical trial protocols, generate literature reviews, and prepare grant applications and ethics submissions. They provide research, writing and editing support to help convert new study ideas into clinical trials.
Melanie has a Bachelor of Nursing and an additional degree in psychology as well as an honours degree in neuroscience with a focus on mental health, and has a particular interest in research that helps those suffering from depression.
Sandra holds a Master of Science degree in biopharmaceuticals. She has a background in clinical trials and is experienced in medical writing, project management and study monitoring.
New study ideas are considered by PaCCSC and CST by allocated committees that determine which study proposals to support. PaCCSC new study ideas can be proposed to the PaCCSC/CST Trials Management Committee (TMC), which takes place about six times a year. CST new study ideas can be presented to the CST Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), which takes place twice per year. New CST studies can also be reviewed out of session.
If you are seeking support for a new study, please contact us by email to paccsc@uts.edu.au or cst@uts.edu.au.
