• Does this affect students currently studying these courses?

  No, the courses are being temporarily suspended for new student intakes for up to and including Autumn 2026 session, so suspensions of intake will only affect students who have not yet started their studies. This does not in any way reflect the value or quality of these courses.

• Is there a list of courses that have new student intakes temporarily suspended for 2026?

  Yes. The list of courses is available. 

• How were these courses chosen? Is there a process?

  The courses have had low student demand and low enrolment trends over time. This does not in any way reflect the value or quality of these courses.

  Each faculty regularly reviews its course offerings. Sometimes courses are suspended for new intake, some may be closed altogether, some may have new intakes suspended while they are redesigned to better meet student demand and requirements before being offered again.  

• I’m a current student and was planning to transfer into a course that will be suspended – does this mean I can't now?

  Unfortunately, you won’t be able to transfer into a course that has been temporarily suspended for new student intakes for Autumn 2026 at this stage.

• If my course is on the list for suspension of new intakes, what does this mean for the future of my course?

  We are currently only suspending the intake of new students into these courses for Autumn 2026. This does not in any way reflect the value or quality of these courses.

• I’m feeling worried that my course has been identified. Where can I go for support or more information?

  If you're a current student, you can rest assured that the temporary suspension of intake of future students into your course does not impact you or your learning journey. If you would like more information, you can visit the Student Centre or call 1300 ASK UTS. UTS offers students a range of support services including Counselling Services if you need support. 

• I am in one of these courses and still haven’t completed all of my first-year subjects. Will they be available?

  Rest assured, if you have only recently commenced your learning journey in one of these courses, the first-year subjects you need to progress your studies will be available to you in 2026. 

• Can I give feedback on courses being temporarily suspended?

  We're happy to discuss this process with you and listen to your ideas or concerns. You can send your questions to studentfeedback@uts.edu.au.

    
  We're suspending student intakes to some courses to ensure prospective students have clear, timely and accurate information about their course options for Autumn 2026. 

  
  No decisions have been made about the future of these courses, as this will be subject to consultation in due course. 

• I’m an international student and the course I’m studying right now is being suspended for new student intake, will this impact my visa?

  The courses are only being temporarily suspended for new student intakes, so this only affects new students who have not yet started their studies. 

  
  As you're already studying the course, the suspension does not affect you or your visa. 

  
  If you're currently studying a pathway program and you have an offer for any course that is being suspended for intake, you'll be contacted to discuss alternative study options. 

• I’m a HDR student, does this impact me?

  The courses are only being temporarily suspended for new student intakes, so this only affects new students who have not started yet. As you have already commenced, the suspension of intake does not immediately affect you. 

• I’m studying a UTS course online – does this affect me?

  No, the courses are being temporarily suspended for new student intakes and will only affect students (whether on campus or online) who have not yet started their studies. This does not in any way reflect the value or quality of the course you are studying.
