Student Partnership Agreement 2025–2027 signed
The next iteration of the UTS Student Partnership Agreement was formally signed and presented to the Student Council Liaison Group (SCLG) on 16 June 2025.
This updated agreement is the result of a collaborative review by student representatives from ActivateUTS, the UTSSA and UTS Council, alongside Natalie Bradbury (Director, Student Experience at UTS). Together, they reflected on the achievements of the previous agreement and identified areas for enhancement.
Enriching the student experience remains the central focus of the agreement. In this iteration, the priorities have been re-organised to align with the pillars of the Student Experience Framework – Wellbeing, Belonging, Partnerships and Academic Engagement. This alignment strengthens the foundation for meaningful collaboration between students and the university, ensuring that student voices remain integral to shaping the UTS experience.
Some of the new collaborative priorities in the agreement are to:
- co-design a new Student Voice Framework
- explore availability of short-term emergency accommodation for students in need
- explore opportunities for permanent space for the UTSSA’s free food services
- expand and develop training and support for student leaders and case managers who respond to sexual assault and harassment.
An accompanying Action Plan, including a RACI Framework (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed), supplements the agreement to drive accountability and make sure that all relevant stakeholders are effectively engaged throughout implementation.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the university by Professor Kylie Readman (Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President Education and Students), and by the following student representatives - Rodger Liang (ActivateUTS Student Director), Mia Campbell (UTSSA President) and Chloe Ferreria (Student Representative for UTS Council).
The priorities of the Student Partnership Agreement will be reviewed biennially by the Student Council Liaison Group (SCLG) to reflect future needs of the UTS community. The SCLG comprises a broad range of student leaders including representatives of Faculty Boards, ActivateUTS and the UTS Students’ Association.
