Fabrication Workshop

Location: CB06.02.022  
Woodworking, metalworking, spray painting, vacuum forming, hand fabricated processes using plastics, plywood and timbers, modelling foam, ureal modelling.
NO MDF OR GLASS

Student self-service makerspace.
14 x 3D printers, 3 x laser cutters, 1 x UV direct to substrate printer, 1 x CNC matboard cutter.
NO PVC OR MDF materials.

Advanced Fabrication Lab

Location: CB06.02.087
4 axis CNC router, 7 axis KR120 Kuka robot arm. 1 x KR10 Kuka robot. 2 x UR10 collaborative robots.
CNC router available for student and academic use. Operated as a bureau service. Robots currently used for research, teaching and learning opportunities only. We use RoboDK software for simulation and offline programming of industrial robots.

Soft Model Student Workshop

Location: CB06.02.040
Simple model construction and assembly. Low voltage battery operated portable power tools permitted, hot wire foam cutting and shaping, spray glue mounting, spray booth for spray can painting, vertical matboard cutter.
All users must abide by the Soft Model Workshop Code of Conduct guidelines available at the entrance to the workshop. Fabrication Workshop staff supervise and enforce guidelines and safe work practices.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9.00am – 12.00pm, 1.00pm - 4.30pm

Photomedia Studios

Photography studios with cyclorama, controllable LED lighting, flash lighting, paper roll backgrounds, projector, mac mini and camera provided.

Product Photography Facilities

Copy stand room contains a copy stand with LED lighting setup for photographing posters, books, magazines,  products or models. BYO camera or borrow from DAB. See staff for access key.
Hours: Monday - Friday from 9.00am – 4.30pm

One large backdrop with LED lights and 4 medium sized LED boxes available for architectural model, product design prototype and book documentation.

Mini Studios

Locations: CB06.07.045, CB06.07.047 and CB06.07.063
These studios have ceiling mounted cantilevered racks with LED lighting that can also hold cameras or microphones. BYO camera or borrow from DAB.
These studios are suitable for animation, photography, video and audio recording of interviews.
Hours: Monday - Friday from 9.00am – 4.30pm
