Overview
The Faculty Women in Engineering and IT Scholarship has been established by UTS Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology with the goal of increasing the participation of women in Engineering and IT as a non-traditional area of study. The Scholarship will provide financial assistance for the duration of their chosen Engineering or IT degree.
Who is eligible
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Identify as a woman;
- Be an Australian citizen, or New Zealand citizen or the holder of an Australian Permanent Resident visa or a Permanent Humanitarian visa;
- Have received an offer through UAC for a UTS Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology undergraduate degree[1]; and
- Intended full-time enrolment in a UTS Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology undergraduate degree; and
- Academic excellence in the final year of high school (ATAR of 85.0 or above, excluding bonus points).
[1]Students undertaking the Bachelor of Information Technology (Co-op) are not eligible.
Selection process
- Ranked in ATAR order, excluding bonus points.
- First UAC preference to a UTS Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) undergraduate degree at the time of selection will be highly regarded.
- Candidates who have applied using the optional UTS online Elite School Leavers Scholarships Application form will be highly regarded. As demonstrated in the Scholarship application.
- Motivation to succeed in the chosen FEIT degree program,
- Demonstrated initiative in personal and professional life,
- Motivation to support and represent women in engineering and IT.

This scholarship is currently under review. The Conditions of Award will be updated soon.

How to apply
These scholarships are awarded automatically following the release of ATAR results in December, although you must be enrolling as a local student and have a University of Technology Sydney course preference on your UAC application to be eligible. The application form is optional and can be completed online at the Elite School Leaver Scholarship Application Form.
