Yes, you need to register to attend UTS Open Day. This ensures you receive the latest updates and important event information. Secure your spot!

Once you’ve registered for Open Day, you're all set. There’s no need to book individual sessions or activities. After you check in on the day, simply head along to the activities you’re interested in.

Note: Many sessions have limited capacity and operate on a first-come, first-served basis. If there’s a specific session you’re keen to attend, we recommend arriving early.

The Open Day program will be available on our website in August.

If you’re attending Open Day with family or friends, each person will need to register and check in on the day.

Open Day is an in-person event, however we offer plenty of online ways to explore UTS year-round, including:

• Contacting us or submitting an enquiry
• Taking a virtual campus tours

There’s lots to discover!

You can: 

• Speak one-on-one with academics and current students 
• Visit our advising hubs and student services 
• Join campus and faculty tours 
• Attend information sessions and hands-on workshops 
• Explore the campus and enjoy food outlets and social spaces 

Family and friends are more than welcome to attend. Please note they will also need to register for the event. 

For these activities, they will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If the session you want to attend is full, check the schedule - some of the sessions will be repeated throughout the day. 
 
In the meantime, you can:

• Visit an advising hub
• Join a different tour or workshop
• Grab a bite to eat
• Explore the campus 

To help you move between activities and explore the campus, we recommend leaving at least 10 minutes between sessions when planning your day.

UTS Open Day will take place across our City Campus, with advising hubs, info sessions and workshops hosted throughout our buildings and facilities. You can join guided city campus, facility and housing tours, or explore the campus at your own pace.

Think comfortable but casual. You’ll be walking between buildings, exploring labs and checking out sessions so comfy shoes are a must (your feet will thank you later!). Jeans, leggings or casual pants with a T-shirt, sweater or hoodie work perfectly.

Sydney weather at this time of year can swing between sunny and chilly, so bring a light jacket or hoodie in case it cools down or you’re inside air-conditioned spaces.

Pack smart for the big day. Here’s your Open Day starter kit:

• fully charged phone for maps, schedules and photos
• notebook or device to capture advice and course info
• water bottle to keep hydrated while exploring
• comfortable shoes (there’s plenty of walking)
• light jacket or umbrella in case the weather turns
• questions about courses, student life or anything on your mind

Once the event program is available, we recommend planning your day in advance and checking the start times and locations of the sessions you’d like to attend. Popular sessions and tours can fill up quickly, so it’s a good idea to arrive a little early to secure your spot.

You’ll have the chance to explore a range of UTS facilities throughout the day, including teaching labs, creative studios, workshops, student spaces, and our library, giving you a real feel for what studying at UTS is like.

You can use our campus map to help navigate the campus and find your way between activities throughout the day. There’ll also be signage across campus, and our staff and student ambassadors will be around to help if you need directions or have any questions.

UTS Open Day is held across a number of buildings throughout the city campus, but getting around is easy with the help of our interactive map, on-campus signage, and staff and student ambassadors available throughout the day. We also recommend checking the event program ahead of time to help plan your route between activities.

Yes, current students will be available throughout Open Day to share their experiences and answer your questions about studying at UTS. You’ll be able to chat with students at course advising hubs, on tours, and across the campus throughout the day.

Yes, guided campus tours run throughout the day and give you the chance to explore the campus while getting a feel for student life at UTS. Tours are led by current students, so you’ll also be able to ask questions and hear about their experiences as you explore the buildings and campus.

UTS has a visiting chaplaincy team. There are multifaith rooms available for use by UTS religious groups on the City campus. These rooms are located in Building 3, level 5. Please contact Joanna.Thyer@uts.edu.au for any enquiries.

We aim to deliver an inclusive and accessible Open Day experience for all visitors. If you have any particular access or communication needs, please contact us at FS.events@uts.edu.au.

Accessibility support available across Open Day includes access ramps at key event buildings and entries, infrared assistive listening systems in lecture theatres, accessible amenities across campus, and accessible parking in Building 10 (entry via Thomas Street), operated by InterPark as paid parking.

Most undergraduate applications are made through UAC. Postgraduate applications are usually made directly to UTS.

• If you’re applying for an undergraduate course starting in Autumn 2027 (February intake), we recommend applying through UAC before 30 September 2026 to take advantage of the early bird application fee deadline.
• If you’re applying for a postgraduate course, application timelines can vary depending on the course. You can view UTS application dates and course pages for key deadlines and more information on when to apply.
