Law Tech & Social Justice Week is a vibrant, free-access event running from 31 August to 07 September 2026, exploring the dynamic intersection of technology, law, and social justice.

The week features a diverse program of interactive sessions, including panel discussions, research showcases, and networking opportunities, designed to examine both the benefits and challenges that emerging technologies bring to society. It offers a unique platform for students, academics, and industry experts to share ideas, spark debate, and highlight the importance of technological literacy in shaping the future of legal practice and promoting social justice.

"Tech + Social Justice Week hosted by the UTS Law Faculty is a gateway to learning what the intersection of law, technology and social justice is really about. Particularly through listening and interacting with academics, industry stakeholders and researchers at the Week's events, I learnt and reflected not only on the legal/social issues of technology but also on ways to use technology to advance social justice itself. In this current technological revolution, there is a great deal of interconnectedness in these topics and a multidimensional way of looking at it.

From attending the research presentations and panels, I discovered the that extent that education on e-safety, current regulations and innovations in an accessible way is essential because it is not only digital creators or corporations who are faced with copyright infringement or blockchain struggles, but unsuspecting citizens who can be subjected to deepfakes or other similar issues. So as to minimise the digital divide and focus on ways that technology can be used positively for social justice, the law and society, we each need to be informed on all sides of the coin, and the Tech + Social Justice Week is an incredible, accessible and welcoming platform to get accustomed, ask questions and collaborate."
