Faculty of Law’s Tech + Social Justice Week we are delighted to have Professor Azadeh Dastyari join us to talk about what digital inclusion means.

Every year Tech + Social Justice Week looks at ways in which tech is aiding or detracting from social justice. This year, Tech and Social Justice Week is focused on how technology affects democracy.

Democracy can be interpreted in many ways but at its heart is the participation of citizens in government, law, and policy. For that to occur citizens need to be well informed, have a good understanding of civics, and have the right to education. Digital exclusion is a real issue in Australia today and is a barrier to proper democratic participation and a pressing human rights issue. As part of the UTS Faculty of Law’s Tech + Social Justice Week we are delighted to have Professor Azadeh Dastyari join us to talk about what digital inclusion means.
