Paris Fittler

Paris Fittler

Paris started out as a registered nurse in the chaotic and busy St Vincent’s Emergency Department, Paris now works as a Digital Communications Officer, university tutor and is an all-round comms nerd. So… how does that work? According to her, it’s all about backing yourself, thinking outside the box, and maybe doing a few online personality quizzes.

Paris holds a Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies) from the University of Sydney and a Master of Strategic Communication from UTS. Going back to uni didn’t just add a new qualification to her CV - it shifted how she thought about her career. It gave her the chance to connect with peers from all kinds of industries, explore new opportunities, and gain practical skills that she still draws on in her day-to-day work.

These days, Paris is working in her dream role advocating for better working conditions and improved pay for nurses and midwives at the NSW Nurses and Midwives’ Association, and teaches the next generation of comms professionals at UTS. Her career journey is a reminder that taking a leap into something new can open unexpected doors and that the skills you’ve already built, even in a completely different field, can still be your biggest asset.

Priyasha Das

Priyasha Das

Priyasha recently completed her MBA at the University of Technology Sydney, specialising in Marketing and Supply Chain and Operations. She has kick-started her professional journey with the Combined Group of Companies, supporting sales, operations, and customer-focused initiatives.

Alongside her studies, she has experience across community engagement and large-scale event leadership, having contributed to organisations such as Our Big Kitchen, Vivid Sydney, and the Sydney Marathon. She is passionate about data-driven decision-making, stakeholder collaboration, and creating meaningful customer and community experiences.

Jack Edwards

Jack Edwards

Jack’s career has taken the scenic route. In his early 20s he was working in retail (shout out UNIQLO) and unsure what direction to take, until he eventually found his way to UTS. He completed a double degree in Education (Secondary English) and International Studies (German). While studying, he co-founded Track Speed Development, helping athletes from all sporting backgrounds get faster, and continued running the business while teaching high school English and PDHPE.

Although Jack enjoyed teaching, his passion for sports coaching soon outgrew the classroom. After two years, he moved into a role at UTS that offered the flexibility to invest more in coaching. Years of working with recreational and emerging elite athletes led him back to study the Master of High Performance Sport, giving him the chance to pursue a career in professional sport.

Jack now finds himself balancing coaching as an Olympic sprinter, national champions in the U18 and U20 age groups, postgraduate study, and his work in Schools Outreach at UTS. It’s busy, but he’s grateful for the experience, education, and support that has shaped his path. Returning to uni has given him the structure, confidence, and community to keep pushing toward his goals.
