Does your stutter vary in different situations?

Project title: Investigating the variability of stuttering

Researchers at the Australian Stuttering Research Centre are investigating the variability of stuttering.

We are seeking participants to attend one session at the Australian Stuttering Research Centre, University of Technology Sydney, for approximately 1 hour. You will participate in a short interview and a speaking task. You will be compensated for your time with a $50 gift card.

Research for ADOLESCENTS who stutter

Test our new online social anxiety treatment for teens who stutter

Project title: Investigating iBroadway: An online social anxiety treatment for adolescents who stutter

Researchers at the Australian Stuttering Research Centre have developed an online social anxiety treatment program–iBroadway–for teens who stutter. iBroadway is based on well-established cognitive behaviour therapy procedures.

We are seeking teens (11-17years) who stutter to trial iBroadway. The treatment involves completing the therapy online. Eligible people will have free access to the program for five months. 

To participate, you will: 

  • be a teen who stutters. 
  • be aged between 11 and 17 years of age.
  • have not received treatment for anxiety from a psychologist in the past 6 months.
  • have had NO psychological treatment using Cognitive Behavioural Treatment during the preceding six months.

Project title: Unhelpful thoughts of school-age children who stutter: The development of a measure

Research - child  7-12 years of age

The Australian Stuttering Research Centre is developing a questionnaire to assess the negative thoughts of school-age children who stutter.

Does your child (younger than 3 years of age) stutter?

Project title: Evaluating a simple treatment for young children who stutter

Researchers at the Australian Stuttering Research Centre are developing a new simple treatment for young children who stutter. The treatment is based on research evidence that has shown two simple procedures may reduce stuttering. 

You and your child are eligible to participate if:

  • you are the parent of a child who stutters.
  • your child is younger than 3 years of age.
  • your child is not currently receiving stuttering treatment.
  • your child has not had treatment for stuttering.
