UTS collects, stores and uses contact details it is provided to engage with its customers and future students for the purpose of recruiting students.
UTS may also collect details via UTS:INSEARCH where inquiries they receive relate to UTS courses.
If you provide your contact details
If you provide your contact details and study interests to the university, UTS will:
- use the details you provide, including your nominated email address, to send you information about UTS course offerings. The details will also be used to develop and assess the effectiveness of the university’s marketing strategies and events, and to review associated enrolment trends over time.
- not disclose your information unless required or permitted by law.
- store your information securely in the university's customer relationship management (CRM) system, which is maintained and held securely with a US company under contract with UTS. UTS will take reasonable steps to ensure information provided remains secure.
- retain your information to satisfy the above purposes and the university’s legal obligations to retain records.
You are responsible for ensuring the information you provide is correct and up to date. You can access or correct your information at any time by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you wish to unsubscribe from specific types of communications, or from communication as a whole that are sent to you via the CRM system, use the unsubscribe link in any of the email communications you have received from UTS or send your request to email@example.com. Note that this will not unsubscribe you from other communication from UTS where you have provided your information separately for other purposes.
UTS advertising campaigns
Separate to direct subscription with the university, UTS also targets its advertising campaigns based on online behaviour (often referred to as targeted and online behavioural advertising). This activity does not collect or use any personal information.
Advertising on social media
UTS also advertises through social media channels, including Facebook. If you make your personal information publically available through social media platforms, UTS may use it to provide targeted advertising campaigns and to find look-a-like audiences within social media.
You can update your social media profile settings and opt out of advertisements directly through the social media platforms. Instructions on how to do this can be found on their apps and websites.
