Over the last year we’ve updated students about the steps we are taking to ensure UTS continues to provide exceptional education for our students as well as research that benefits our community. These steps include ensuring the university is financially strong and able to continue to invest in our students and public education.

The Academic Change Implementation Plan has now been released, outlining the changes that will be made to our course and subject offering in addition to the university’s structure.

While there won’t be changes to students' courses in 2026, we understand that students will have questions regarding the impact of the plan. We’ve collated some below:

Frequently Asked Questions

What courses are being phased out?

Below is a list of the courses being phased out in the Academic Change Implementation Plan released on 12 February 2026. Following the release of this plan, all course changes will progress through the established curriculum governance processes.

It’s important to note that some of the courses being phased out do not currently have students enrolled. Where a course has students currently enrolled, the course will be phased out through a teach‑out process to support students to complete their studies. Students will be notified if there are any changes to their study plans once those approvals are finalised. Students will continue to have access to advice through the Student Centre throughout the transition
