Faezeh Karimi (she/her)
Faezeh serves as the Acting Director at Women in Engineering and IT, contributing to the strategic leadership of WIEIT’s programs and providing oversight for program operations across a range of initiatives. Faezeh’s academic background includes expertise in data analytics, visualizations, and network science applied to areas such as education, healthcare, and sustainability. Leveraging this expertise, she also undertakes responsibility for managing WIEIT’s research activities, particularly addressing the educational and professional development requirements of underrepresented groups in Engineering and IT, facilitating diversity and inclusion. Lucía Bautista (she/her)
Lucia is the Program Coordinator of Women in Engineering and IT at the University of Technology Sydney. She focuses on the Lucy Mentoring Program, strategy development, community, scholarships, and communications. She also engages with industry and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders. She has a strong background in policy and political analysis and collaborating with the not-for-profit and corporate sectors for the delivery of programs. Eliza Carter (she/her)
Eliza is the Women in Engineering and IT Program Officer. In this role she is responsible for fostering community engagement through programs such as the Community Development Program and the Gender Equity Ambassador Leadership Program. Eliza has a passion for social justice and is committed to applying an intersectional approach to her work in gender equity. She is also currently completing her Bachelor of Arts in Social Justice..
Georgia McCarthy (she/her)
Georgia is an Outreach Officer for Women in Engineering and IT. Her role at WiEIT is coordinating School Outreach programs for schools in Sydney and beyond. Georgia communicates and plans with schools to deliver multi-touchpoint programs linked with school curriculum. She manages volunteers and facilitators, leading and training them to independently facilitate workshops in schools. Georgia, as a UTS Mechatronic Engineering graduate, is a leader and role model for Primary, high school, and university students. Connect with Georgia on LinkedIn.
Maryam Kausar (they/she)
Maryam studied a Bachelor of Mechatronic Engineering at UTS and now works with the WiEIT team as an Outreach Officer. Working alongside Marco and Georgia, Maryam coordinates high school outreach for the STEM x Impact program. From her first semester studying at UTS, she has worked with WiEIT on our School Outreach Programs and on-campus events.
