Regrettably, the UTS Wanago Program will conclude at the end of 2025. Current school partners will remain in the program for Year 12 2025. No Year 11 Wanago subjects will take place next year.

UTS is very proud of the Wanago Program and all it has achieved over the past five years enabling STEM access equality. Thanks to Wanago, over 400 students from over 50 schools have been able to complete STEM subjects as part of their HSC empowering them to pursue pathways into STEM degrees and careers.

Wanago will continue to offer STEM teaching professional development in 2024 and 2025. Please get in touch to add your school to the mailing list for upcoming events.

Forging the future today

Logo: Supported by NSW Government

The UTS Wanago Program is a social justice initiative from the Faculty of Engineering and IT that aims to address STEM subject access inequalities in NSW high schools. STEM skills will be required for 75 per cent of jobs. UTS recognises this need to prepare today’s students for the future demands of the nation's workforce. Wanago was created to offer STEM subject opportunities for schools with populations that are underrepresented in STEM careers, such as students from low SES areas, and female students.

Wanago graduates are offered direct entry into the Faculty of Engineering and IT undergraduate courses.

The Wanago Program is generously supported by the Ernest Heine Family Foundation.
