Digital transformation is the research focus, in the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, internet of things (IoT), character and video recognition, and blockchain.
Future areas of collaboration have been identified as joint programs, internships and an industry doctorate program.

Indian Statistical Institute
The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) is one of the foremost centres in the world for training and research in computer science, statistics, quantitative economics and related sciences. UTS and ISI in Kolkata have a strong and enduring collaborative relationship, which includes the ISI–UTS joint research cluster on artificial intelligence.
Indian Institute of Technology Madras
Recognised as an Institute of National Importance, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) is the top engineering institute in India. Networks are deepening with UTS, with plans for joint academic programs and ongoing research collaboration to extend research excellence in digital transformation.
Vellore Institute of Technology
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is a progressive educational institute dedicated to the pursuit of excellence, and is recognised as an Institution of Eminence. UTS is growing its collaborative partnership with VIT, which extends across education teaching and learning, and research.
