Vale Dennis Lenard

All at UTS Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building are saddened to hear of the passing of Professor Dennis Lenard, last Saturday 11 February 2023.

Prof Lenard was Professor of Building Studies and Head of the School of Building at the faculty during the 1990s and early 2000s. He was also one of the very first graduates of the NSW Institute of Technology (now UTS) Bachelor of Applied Science (Building) course in the 1970s.

Dennis Lenard was a global leader in the construction project management and quantity surveying fields, across both academia and industry.

In addition to his work at UTS, some of his many achievements included being the President and/or Chair of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, the Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors and the International Cost Engineering Council – as well as having been appointed the inaugural CEO of the UK Constructing Excellence Centre.

The Lenard family will remember Dennis at a private funeral, but a separate memorial to celebrate his life has also been organised. Details for this may be obtained by emailing UTS School of Built Environment's Peter Smith.
