Prof Anthony Burke hosts ABC TV’s Restoration Australia

If you were unaware, Professor Anthony Burke has more than one string to his bow. While those within UTS may know him best as course director for the Master of Architecture or as an expert in architectural design, curation and commentary, he’s now to be more widely recognised as the new presenter of Restoration Australia on ABCTV.
One of the biggest surprises for him in the role is the passion of the owners he’s worked with on the show. “I was not prepared for their level of enthusiasm. They’re not home renovators: these are people who feel they’re making a small but significant contribution to Australian culture and Australian heritage. There’s a responsibility that they take very seriously, and I think that is really fantastic.”
