Bestowed by the Brussels-based European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), EQUIS is one of the world’s leading accreditations for business and management schools. The UTS Business School joins 215 business schools in 45 countries to receive accreditation, following a comprehensive review of the School’s teaching and learning programs, research impacts and connections with industry and practice.

UTS Business School has been awarded EQUIS accreditation for excellence in business education and research. The accreditation recognises the Business School’s strong practice-based focus and commitment to social impact, placing it among the top one per cent of business schools worldwide.

The Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) global accreditation standards require excellence in areas such as strategic management and innovation, learning and teaching, academic and professional engagement and impactful intellectual contributions.

After a rigorous review, UTS Business School has been awarded an extension of its AACSB accreditation – a status it first achieved in 2007 and which is held by less than five per cent of the world's business schools.

UTS Business School has been an Associate Partner of the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative (GRLI) since 2024.

In strategic partnership with AACSB and EFMD Global, the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative exists to catalyse the development of globally responsible leadership and practice in organisations and societies worldwide. It is the leading incubator for innovation and new practice in business schools and for collaboration with business in the space of ethics, responsibility and sustainability.

The Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) have accredited our Master of Business in HR Management and our Bachelor of Business in HR Management.

In 2008, the CFA recognised UTS Business School's program Bachelor of Business with a Finance major as a CFA Institute University Affiliation Program. Ours was the first Australian undergraduate program to gain this recognition.

Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority logo

Entrant financial advisers from 1 Jan 2019 must hold an Approved Degree as assessed by the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA). From 1 Jan 2022, the Financial Adviser Standards unit of the Australian Treasury has taken over FASEA’s standard-setting roles. 

The following degrees’ curriculum subsumes the RG146 requirements at postgraduate levels for students interested in pursuing a career in financial advice, Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning, Master of Financial Planning and Master of Finance / Master of Financial Planning.

Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) – administered by the Australian Research Council for the Federal Government – rates UTS Business School as ‘above world standard’ and ‘well above world standard’ in research areas such as applied economics, accounting, auditing, business and management.

QS World University Rankings

Globally, our ranking in the top 100 for Accounting & Finance and in the top 150 for Economics & Econometrics and Management & Business Studies in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024 which places us among the world’s leading universities. 

We are the first business school in Australia to be awarded five stars in the QS Stars Business Schools, recognising UTS internationally for its high performance in research, graduate employability, teaching quality and infrastructure. We're ranked 47th in the world and 5th in Australia for Sustainability (QS Sustainability Rankings 2025).

TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKINGS

UTS is ranked 154 by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, which judges world-class universities across all of their core missions – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. UTS ranked 1st in Australia and 11th globally in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2024 and is ranked in the global top 150 for Business and Economics. We are also ranked 13th in the world and 5th in Australia for overall contributions to Sustainable Development (Times Higher Education Impact Ranking 2024).

Finance was ranked 66th globally and 5th in Australia in ARWU 2024 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS).

The UTS Business School was also named in 2024 Financial Times Responsible Business Education Awards for Best Overall Business School in Australia committed to a Responsible Ethos.
