Providing award programs to overseas students
Transnational Education
Transnational Education (TNE) is the provision of award programs to international students located outside Australia
Global interest in TNE is growing rapidly, whether it's through international partnerships, offshore branch campuses or the proliferation of online learning that transcends borders. UTS offers TNE programs that help international students to globalise their study experience. We work with partners overseas to identify strategic opportunities to deliver programs that meet identified local needs and align with anticipated workforce demands.
The quality of our TNE programs is governed by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA), Australia’s independent national quality assurance and regulatory agency for higher education. TEQSA safeguards student interests and the reputation of Australia’s higher education sector by assuring the quality of higher education providers through a proportionate, risk-reflective approach to regulation.
The TNE team at UTS looks after:
- the discovery and development of new TNE opportunities, including risk assessment, due diligence, legal and agreement negotiation;
- managing governance and operational aspects of UTS's existing TNE programs;
- nurturing and managing partnerships with the local institutions;
- advising on TNE-related market intelligence and in-country regulations;
- the development and ownership of UTS procedures and protocols on TNE;
- a joint development of the TNE framework with UTS College.
