The University of Technology Sydney ranked 1st in Australia for artificial intelligence, instrument science and technology, and robotic science and engineering in the ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects.

UTS placed in the top 100 in the world across 16 subjects including 10th for nursing and 18th for artificial intelligence. 

The ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects examines the performance of approximately 2,000 universities around the world across 57 subject areas.

Subjects are assessed against world-class faculty, world-class outputs, high-quality research, research impact and international collaboration. 

“These global rankings reflect UTS’s continuing strength in research and teaching, and our growing reputation as a world leader in research with real world impact in fields that are shaping the future from AI, robotics and engineering to nursing ,” said UTS Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Kylie Readman.

“This great result reflects the excellence of our research and teaching and is testament to the dedication of our academic staff who are working to deliver for their students and the communities in which they operate.”
