Recognising outstanding student achievement across showcases, hackathons and competitions at UTS Tech Festival 2026.
The UTS Tech Fest 2026 Awards Night was held on Thursday 2 July 2026, recognising student achievements across the festival's showcases, hackathons and competitions.
Tech Fest is the Faculty of Engineering and IT's flagship celebration of student innovation, bringing together students, academics and industry partners to explore emerging technologies, share ideas and showcase real-world projects.
The awards highlighted outstanding work across engineering, information technology, design and games, recognising projects that demonstrated technical excellence, creativity and real-world impact.
From artificial intelligence and cybersecurity to robotics, biomedical engineering, software engineering, civil and environmental engineering and interaction design, students showcased innovative solutions to complex challenges. The festival's hackathons and competitions also highlighted strong collaboration and problem solving skills, with students developing solutions in areas including generative AI, immersive technologies, engineering design and cybersecurity.
Many of the awards were presented in partnership with industry organisations, recognising projects that demonstrated excellence and relevance to current industry challenges. A special thank you to our industry partners WesTrac, State Asphalts, IAG, DroneShield, Intelligent Drone Lab, NTT Data, Fulton Hogan, Sydney Water, Thales, ServiceRocket, Riot Games, MSI, Cochlear and WiseTech for supporting UTS Tech Fest and helping celebrate our students.
