How to apply

These scholarships are awarded automatically following the release of ATAR results in December, although you must be enrolling as a domestic student and have a University of Technology Sydney course preference on your UAC application to be eligible. The application form is optional and can be completed online at the Elite School Leaver Scholarship Application Form.

To be eligible for this scholarship, you will need to apply to Centrelink (or make a claim) for the Youth Allowance/Abstudy or other Centrelink benefit applicable to you. Only applicants receiving a Centrelink means-tested income support payment, or demonstrating exceptional financial hardship with supporting evidence will be considered.

Steps to complete a UAC Equity Scholarship application:

  1. Apply for a means-tested income support payment (such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, Abstudy) via Centrelink. Centrelink will provide you with your own Centrelink Reference Number (CRN)
  2. Apply for a UAC Equity Scholarship with your Centrelink Customer Reference Number (CRN).
  3. If your Centrelink claim wasn't approved at the time of applying you will need to update your UAC Equity Scholarship application at UAC once you receive confirmation that your benefit has been approved.
  4. You must submit or update your details on UAC website by the closing date.
