Hi, my name is Rodrigo.
I'm originally from Guatemala.
I'm doing a master's degree of marketing,
And I got the Academic Excellence Scholarship.
I chose UTS because it’s a really good
university and it’s recognised worldwide. So the learning experience at UTS is very academic-focused compared to Guatemala where it’s very industry-focused, industry leaders
will teach you about business. In here at UTS, academic business people will teach you about business.
So that complementary focus of business is what I really like.
In addition, I consider UTS very inclusive with everyone.
It’s very inclusive with the LGBT community participating in the pride parade.
I think the scholarship I got just improved the value proposition of stepping out of the workforce
for a few years and make it more attractive to me to come here and actually increase my knowledge in something
I do really like.I'm very fortunate to have received the Academic Excellence Scholarship from UTS.
I encourage all international students, apply and have a chance to study at UTS, and it will give you a once in a lifetime experience.

Hi, my name is Cheshta Randhay and I'm from Mauritius.
I'm currently in my first year studying civil engineering at UTS, and I'm the recipient of the Vice Chancellor's International Undergraduate Scholarship.
I chose UTS mainly because of its strong reputation in engineering.
So the learning experience at UTS is very interactive and practical.
I've already worked on assignments which includes tools such as AutoCAD or GIS and theodolites which I probably wouldn't have had access to this early in my course back home.
So all of these aspects about UTS made it a very easy decision for me.
One of my most memorable experiences at UTS would be becoming a UPASS leader.
And as a leader, I run sessions to support first year engineering students in complex subjects. So my scholarship covers the entire tuition fees.
Its significance extends beyond its financial support as it empowers me to continue my journey of learning and service, leaving a lasting impact on the world around me.
My biggest advice would be to not be afraid to take the leap.
And if you are thinking about applying to scholarships, be genuine in your application and just don't highlight your achievements, but also your passion and goals.
Because UTS looks at the whole person, not just your grades.

"My scholarship helped me focus on my degree and gain industry experience. UTS has a central location. It’s also very modern compared to other universities. Being a young person, I thought it’d be really nice to go to a young university, because of the vibe and feel of the place. "
