Two science PhD students from the UTS Centre for Clean Energy Technology recently received Chinese Government Scholarships for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Studying Abroad.
The successful candidates are granted US$6,000 each and a certificate to encourage and support their future studies and research. Of the eighteen students in the Sydney region to receive the award this year, three came from UTS.
As the only distinctive supervisor to have two students receive this scholarship, UTS Professor Guoxiu Wang, the Centre Director was invited to give a speech at the Chinese Government scholarship award ceremony last Friday.
Professor Wang said, “This is a tremendous outcome and an excellent result for The Centre for Clean Energy Technology and the U T S. It shows that our research students are very dedicated to their research projects and strive to be successful”.
Both Bing Sun and Dawei Su have an excellent record of publications and participation in international conferences. This award recognises and continues a track record of outstanding success for Chinese students studying with UTS.
