IEEE AP-S Fellowships awarded to GBDTC researchers

21 November 2022

Congratulations to GBDTC's Dr Shulin Chen and Dr Lizhao Song!

Champion golden trophy for winner background. Success and achievement concept.

GBDTC Research Fellow Dr Shulin (Stanley) Chen, and CSIRO Research Fellow and GBDTC Visiting Scholar, Dr Lizhao Song, both former GBDTC PhD students, have just won the 2022 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) Fellowships.

The two fellowships, each with $5000 USD financial assistance, will support Dr Chen and Dr Song to work with GBDTC Director, Distinguished Prof Jay Guo, and Dr Peiyuan Qin, Co-Director of GBDTC’s Electromagnetic Informatics Lab, to advance their research on Reconfigurable Leaky Wave Antennas and  Conformal Transmitarrays with Two-Dimensional Multi-Beams, respectively.

GBDTC has word-leading research capabilities in reconfigurable antennas and conformal transmitarrays, both of which are key technologies for the six generation (6G) wireless communications systems. Together with their supervisors Prof. Jay Guo and Dr Peiyuan Qin, Dr Shulin Chen and Dr Lizhao Song have both made significant contributions to the fields. The new IEEE AP-S Fellowships will undoubtedly lead to more scientific and technology breakthroughs.

Congratulations to Shulin, Lizhao, Jay and Peiyuan, and best wishes for great success in their research!
