AAi research team led by Associate Professor Guandong Xu won two national industry awards presented by NSW Minister Matt Kean on 28 September 2018 based on the collaborative project with ANZ’s insurance brand OnePath. The ANZ OnePath’s Artificial Intelligent (AI) underwriting and risk engine solutions were designed to harness the power of big data and machine learning to transform the underwriting process from a heavily manual and lengthy processes-orientated business to an automated real-time decision-making tool that provides an insurance outcome in seconds. This has enabled OnePath to enter a new world of underwriting that is empowered by AI and big data insights to make the insurance process easier, streamline business process, improve customer experiences and provide cover to more Australians. Outcomes of the solutions that have been developed and now being operationalised within OnePath workflows. Apart from the feature showcase at CeBIT event in May 2018, this is another innovation and impact recognised by industry and community.
