Congratulations

GBDTC is thrilled to announce that Dr Maral Ansari has been awarded the Mojgan Daneshmand Grant for Women by IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society due to her outstanding research achievements in antennas. There were twelve grants awarded this year, with only one winner from Australia. Congratulations Maral!

The grant is named after Prof. Mojgan Daneshmand, whose research achievements and commitment to the Antennas and Propagation Society are a model to promote women. This award was established in 2021 to promote women’s participation and visibility in the field of antennas and propagation. The grants are awarded to early-career female researchers with strong potential and track record of research.

Dr Maral Ansari completed her PhD studies at UTS in 2021. Maral is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate under the supervision of Distinguished Professor Jay Guo, focusing on the technologies for circuit-type and quasi-optical multi-beam antenna arrays for 5G and beyond communications. Maral received several competitive awards and grants during her PhD study, including the Best Paper Award at the 2019 International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and the TICRA EurAAP Travel Grant for EuCAP 2021 (European Conference on Antennas and Propagation).

It is a great honour for me to receive the Mojgan Daneshmand Grant and to be recognised for my research by IEEE Antenna & Propagation Society. I want to give my sincere thanks to everyone who supported me and encouraged me to get this far. I hope to continue doing my best to make more contributions to this field of research.

Dr Maral Ansari, GBDTC Postdoctoral Research Associate
