The Secretary for Health Mrs Chanda Garabwan and the Deputy Secretary Mr Andrew O'Connell were in attendance for the opening of the workshop. First workshop was held in September with the objectives of, discussing Nursing policies, protocols and guidelines, discussing Nursing standards,  and identifying key elements of competencies.

Competency framework

During the workshop, participants highlighted the importance of nurses in Nauru to contributing significantly to health care by making up 80% of the health workforce and providing primary health and clinical services to the entire population in the country.
