I've always been really passionate about physics since I was young because I think it gives you the best opportunity to really understand the nature of reality. With quantum mechanics in particular, it gives you an opportunity to explore the inner workings of the universe at a microscopic level.

There are effects like quantum entanglement, long-range correlations, and interference effects that nature is just giving us for free. These will provide a huge benefit for current and future technology, and also for society as a whole.

Quantum simulation is one of the main applications of quantum computing. It will help in the development of new pharmaceuticals, new renewable energy sources, new materials, and many other things that we cannot even think of.

I love the tech aspect of quantum computing. As you can see behind me, we get to work with lots of really cool, complex, and interesting equipment, and it's really satisfying to develop a mastery of that.

What excites me about being part of the Sydney quantum community is that we have one of the largest densities of researchers in a broad spectrum of topics, and we can get to them just by hopping on the bus.

There are many benefits of the Sydney Quantum Academy scholarship. I would say first and foremost, from a practical perspective, the scholarship provides me with the funding that I need to be able to pursue a PhD full time.

One big benefit of being part of Sydney Quantum Academy is it gives me space to connect with peers and academics from my own university and the others across Sydney.

Why did I choose Sydney? Well, it's just great. There are many start-ups, four universities, and also industry opportunities.

Working in Sydney, you really feel like you're part of a world-renowned community, so it's really motivating to come to work because you really feel like you're working with the best.
