Four brilliant women in quantum share what inspires them on International Women's Day

In an International Women’s Day special edition by the Sydney Quantum Academy (SQA), Dr Christina Giarmatzi explains her love of research and how she arrived at the UTS Centre for Quantum Software and Information (QSI). 

Dr Giarmatzi features alongside three other female researchers based in Sydney: Professor Michelle Simmons (Australian of the Year, 2018), UNSW; Dr Zixin Huang, Macquarie University; and Juliette Soule, University of Sydney.

As a recent recipient of a Sydney Quantum Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship Dr Giarmatzi is researching ways to minimise noise in quantum computing though machine learning and semidefinite programming at QSI with Associate Professor Chris Ferrie.
