Congratulations to Constanza Vargas, who will be an associate investigator on a successful NHMRC Project Grant with colleagues from the University of Melbourne. They will receive $2,766,611 to study "Melanoma Margins Trial-II: A Phase III, Multi-centre Randomised Controlled Trial Investigating 1cm vs 2cm Wide Surgical Excision Margins for AJCC Stage II Primary Cutaneous Melanoma (MelMarT-II)".

This a primary melanoma clinical trial that aims to compare a 1cm versus the currently recommended 2cm excision margin, an intervention that the investigators hypothesise will lead to significant cost saving to the healthcare system and a more efficient allocation of public resources. CHERE will conduct the economic evaluation alongside the trial and budget impact analysis that will provide support to future decision making on this arena.
