Advanced Analytics Institute 2016 PhD graduate Jing Ren was recently awarded the outstanding PhD thesis for the Chancellor’s List for 2017.
Each year UTS recognises the innovations by PhD students. The Chancellor's List acknowledges doctoral theses, which are judged to be of the highest calibre among all UTS theses submitted in a given year. The recipient of this award is presented with a certificate, and the abstract of the thesis will be published by the Journal and Proceedings of the Royal Society of New South Wales.
Each year, only one or two Faculty of Engineering and IT students can receive such highly recognised distinction. Jing’s contribution to research excellence is the innovative algorithms for the accurate prediction of conformational B-cell epitope sites. Jing was supervised by Professor Jinyan Li of Faculty of Engineering and IT, and co-supervised by Professor John Ellis of Faculty of Science, UTS.
