Palliative Care Clinical Studies Collaborative (PaCCSC), the world’s largest palliative care clinical research collaborative is joining UTS.
The PaCCSC move to the Centre for Cardiovascular and Chronic Care presents a unique opportunity to leverage off the knowledge and capabilities developed since the Collaborative commenced in 2006 to expand into the areas of chronic disease and aged care. Over the past 10 years PaCCSC have developed a unique capacity in the conduct of collaborative clinical research in a discipline where multisite clinical research was previously an anomaly. Having a semi-autonomous governance structure, collaborating members, highly skilled recruiting sites and a centralised supporting infrastructure.
At the end of the PaCCSC Annual Research Forum Day, 2 March, a celebration was held acknowledging the significant 10th anniversary of PaCCSC and also, welcoming the Collaborative, including Professor David Currow, Chief Investigator of PaCCSC, staff and members of PaCCSC to its new home in the Centre at UTS.

The achievements of the PaCCSC over the past 10 years provide a solid foundation on which to grow the program of research while being embedded in a dynamic and rapidly growing Centre.
We welcome the PaCCSC team to the Centre and look forward to the beginning of a new era of research in palliative care at UTS.
